Known as the most Mexican region in Mexico, the state of Jalisco is home to a number of attractive cultural traditions such as the production of the agave plant to create tequila, a beverage that is essential to Mexican culture, and being its plantation scenery one of the World Heritage intangible sites listed by the UNESCO.
Mariachi music was also born in Jalisco, in the city of Guadalajara, home to extraordinary historical plazas and landmarks such as the neoclassical Teatro Degollado and the Palacio de Gobierno which houses famous murals by preeminent artist José Clemente Orozco. Its no wonder Jalisco food, its music and its people are considered the most Mexican experience: the very heart of Mexico.
